Black Bear Activity

Black bears present in Oregon Cascades, Coast Range, and Blue Mountains. Dogs can trigger encounters. Leash required and food stored properly at all times.

Mountain lions present statewide, especially in eastern OR and the Cascades. Small dogs are prey. Keep on-leash at all times.

Western black-legged ticks carrying Lyme disease and anaplasmosis present in OR forests and grasslands. Check dogs thoroughly after every hike.
