📋 How Timed Entry Works
- Season window: July 1 – September 15. Vehicle reservations are required to drive the full GTTS corridor between the 11am–4pm peak entry restriction window.
- Booking window: Reservations open 60 days in advance at 8am Mountain Time on recreation.gov. They sell out within minutes of release.
- Cancellation slots: The best opportunity is monitoring for cancellations. Set an alert above — we poll every 7 minutes and will email you the moment a slot opens.
- Vehicle types: Reservations are per vehicle. Oversized vehicle restrictions apply east of the Loop for anything over 21 ft.
- Cost: $2 reservation fee + standard park entrance fee ($35/vehicle or America the Beautiful Pass). The reservation does NOT cover park entry.
- Early/late access: Before 11am and after 4pm, no reservation is needed. Arrive early (sunrise) to avoid both the reservation requirement and crowds.
